We've only been to Shake Shack once before and it was pretty good so we decided to stop by today.
We always share our food so we decided to order a few things so that we can try some new things. I tried the Shack Burger the last time we came and I really liked it - I always tend to get what a restaurant is originally known for.
We also got two orders of cheese fries, which would've tasted better if there was some hot sauce. But thats okay, it was still good and we finished the whole thing.
He got a beer to go with the burger & hotdogs, but me not being a big fan of pale ale only took a sip and decided to stick with my lemonade, which he said tasted like blood & metal. Weirdo.
We heard that their hotdogs are pretty good too so we got the Shack Meister dog & the Shack-cago dog. I don't think I would order the Shack Meister again, just because the cheese made it taste to similar to my fries and it was a bit on the salty side. We both really liked the Shack-cago dog, it was spicy and went well with everything that was in it.
We still haven't tried their shakes, so we promised that the next time we come, we will order it no matter what.
A few days ago it was my 24th birthday. We made dinner reservations at Bones for just the two of us.
Everybody around me would constantly tell me that the steak at Bones is really good. In a way that's what made me want to go there more, I just had to try it out for myself. As soon as we walked in, they were very friendly and kept greeting me a happy birthday.
When they seated us I noticed they had thrown birthday confetti on the table cloth.
They started us off with the basic bread and butter, which my boyfriend always gets full off of. I had to stop him a few times to not eat everything but he did.
What kind of celebration would it be without a glass of wine and well, beer for the boy. Probably the most expensive dessert wine I ever had.
We didn't bother with any appetizers because we always get too full and can't finish our main entree.
We ordered a side of truffle butter mashed potatoes which was actually one of the best I've ever tasted. Boyfriend ordered the crab stuffed trout & of course I went for the 20 oz rib eye bone in steak.
Just when we thought we were all ready to go, our waiter came out with this massive ice cream cake and wished me a happy birthday. It was the best way to end the night.
Thank you for an amazing birthday dinner to my loving boyfriend.
My sister decided to surprise this past week and visited Georgia for a few days! My boyfriend and room mates were in on it, but I absolutely had no idea. I was so happy that she visited even if it was only for a few days. On the first night she arrived we decided to have dinner at Shoya Izakaya which is a Japanese 'Tapas Style' restaurant located in Doraville.
We definitely cannot leave out some sort of alcohol on a Saturday night, so we decided to order the beer tower, which served a bit over 10 cups. When the waiter was bringing it to our table, everyone near us was looking at our table.
We ordered a bunch of dishes, since each dish only had a few pieces on it. The picture above was the tomato & bacon skewer which was really good. The bacon was crispy while the tomato was really juicy.
The other skewer we decided to order was the chicken & garlic which in my opinion tasted better than the first one. There were a few pieces of garlic on the skewer that went perfectly with the chicken.
Of course if you come to eat at a Japanese restaurant you need to try their ramen. We chose to share the Tan Tan ramen which was made with spicy chicken broth and ground pork. Looks are deceiving because the ramen wasn't as spicy as it looked.
Boyfriend was craving some gyoza so we ordered a plate of it as well. There wasn't anything special about them but the dipping sauce was really good and went well with the cabbage.
Okonomiyaki was the first dish that we ordered which I would recommend that you do because this takes about 30 minutes to be served. The thickness of this pancake is ridiculous which made me understand why it took so long to come out. This was the last thing we ate, but by the time it was served we were already too full so we weren't able to finish it.
But overall, the ambiance and service was pretty good and the food was tasty as well. I know I'll definitely be back!
