On our 2nd day in New York, we woke up at around 10AM.
We looked outside our window to see if people were dressed a little more warmer than yesterday,
But same as the day before, everyone was wearing long coats and thick jackets.
For breakfast we went to the same spot as yesterday.
We had the usual with some black coffee to keep us awake.
After breakfast, we walked around Times Square and got some peanuts.
We headed back to our hotel just to grab a few of our things and ate some snacks.
After we took care of business (ahem), we went down to the lobby to call our Uber.
The drive to SoHo was not too long - about twenty minutes.
As soon as we got closer, we both felt like it was less hectic than Times Square, but still there were so many people.
It felt like a little hipster town - and I loved it.
There were so many tiny coffee shops and cute boutiques.
First stop - Cafe Habana for some grilled Mexican corn.
I heard only good things about this place, so of course we needed to try some.
We got a passion fruit drink and shared a corn on the side of the street.
The corn was pretty hard to eat, and I got stuff stuck in between my teeth but it was totally worth it.
I was able to find a recipe in a magazine, so we're definitely trying that out. I just hope it tastes the same.
I didn't expect there to be so much people, but we did go on a weekend.
We went into a few shops - and took a few pictures here and there.
I just really appreciate how he knows I enjoy taking pictures and so he patiently waits for me.
We were just walking around and enjoying the view when we passed by this cute little pink ice cream truck.
The ice cream was kind of expensive but it was so good.
What is it with NY and all their food tasting so damn good?
For dinner, we decided to eat at Oh Taisho.
The last time I came to New York, we ate at the restaurant right beside this one.
From what I remember, it was really good but I wanted to try this place as well.
The minute we went in, we noticed it was really packed.
The waitress asked if we wanted to sit at the bar area or at this really tiny table near the entrance,
and we opted for that because I love being able to sit across my bf and stare at him when we eat - rather than look straight ahead at a wall.
We didn't want to eat too much because we had already planned on getting some Halal Guys again.
It was so good the other night - we just had to have it once more before leaving New York.
Of course, we started off with beer and some edamame. The kebabs were so good - we gobbled it down so fast.
After dinner, we walked around (it was freezing) and grabbed some Starbucks.
Before heading back to the hotel, we walked around Times Square - it was so beautiful.
There seemed to be so much more people at night and it was crazy loud.
As promised, we got some Halal Guys for our late midnight snack and went to bed.
The next morning (the day we leave), we had some street food for lunch.
We had a hot dog and kebab in the middle of Times Square. Then we got a pretzel to munch on while we walked around.
There was nothing really I could buy to take back as souvenirs, but everyone likes chocolate, right?
So we walked about 15 minutes to Royce' and got some goodies for our people.
The shop was really tiny and cute - we stayed in there for about 10 minutes figuring out what to buy.
I spent a good amount of money in there - I am not proud of myself.
Once we were done with souvenirs, I started getting really tired.
We walked by a little park and saw that there was a coffee shop, so we made a quick stop.
After that we called our Uber to take us to the airport. I did not want to leave.
We had about an hour till boarding so we got some food and snacks to eat while waiting.
The airport food was amazing - I ate more than my boyfriend.
After bothering each other and eating for an hour - it was time to board and head back home.
Although this trip was a short one, I had such a great time with my best friend.
I've always wanted to come to New York with him and he did that for me.
Thank you for this experience and for just being by my side~ ♡
