We had been planning this trip to NY about 3 months prior.
We both love traveling but never had the chance to ride on an airplane together,
so this was super exciting for the both of us.
But first of all, thank you lovie for taking me on this trip~ ♡
Our flight was at 6:45AM so we ended up leaving the house at around 4:30AM.
We wanted to have enough time to get some coffee.
Since we were going to be gone for 3 days, we decided to use an indoor airport parking service.
They have a shuttle that picks you up right where you park your car.
Then they take you to the airport, and of course when returning they pick you up and take you back to your car.
10/10 would use again☺
The flight was about 2.5 hours, so we ended up not sleeping at all.
We ate snacks and bothered each other and in no time we were getting ready to land.
We arrived in NY on a Friday morning during rush hour so traffic going to Times Square was pretty bad.
What would have only taken about 20 minutes took us about 40 minutes.
It was worth it though - we were able to sight see while sitting in the car.
Once we got to our hotel, we dropped our bags with the front desk.
Check in wasn't until 3PM so we left our bags and decided to get some breakfast.
While walking to get some breakfast, we passed by this parking deck.
This wasn't your normal parking deck - so he told me to take a photo of it.
Before coming to NY I researched a few places to eat breakfast at.
One of top ones was this place - so we walked about 10 minutes from our hotel to get to this place.
It was a nice cozy diner and we really liked it, so we went back again the next day for breakfast.
I ended up getting corn beef and hash with two sunny side up eggs.
While my love got two eggs as well with hash and a side of bacon.
First stop after breakfast - center of Times Square!
Everything was literally just like the in the movies.
It was so busy and loud, with huge billboards everywhere, but we loved it.
We went into the Hershey's store and as soon as we entered, one of the workers greeted us with some chocolate!
What a pleasant way to be greeted - we were joking about going back in.
As we were walking around, we saw a bunch of food trucks parked on the side of the road.
The lines were long for some of the trucks - others not so much.
We decided on the Kimchee Taco Truck - of course.
We ordered a bulgogi taco and decided to share one because we wanted to try and eat different kinds of things.
We had our lunch in this cute little spot right by the food trucks.
The weather was really nice - there were so much people having lunch out here.
After our taco, we walked across the street and got some pizza.
There were so many pizza joints but decided on this place since it was pretty close to our hotel.
The pizza was really good and it was super cheap!
I wrote down a few places that I wanted to eat at here in NY, and one of the places I really wanted to try was Pokeworks.
I originally saw a video on Facebook and promised that we would try it.
Like all the reviews said, the line was long.
We waited about 45 minutes outside before we entered the store.
A lot of people would see us, freak out about the line and just leave. Totally worth waiting though.
Similar to Chipotle, you can choose a burrito, bowl or salad. I got a custom made burrito while the bf got a large bowl!
I put tuna and salmon in my burrito with a bunch of other toppings,
while he got a signature bowl - Hawaiian classic.
We also got some miso soup and drinks - the drink was so good that
we tried looking to see if they were sold at stores, but we only found them online. Ugh.
When we were waiting in line, he kept saying "this better be worth the wait".
As we were eating it, we both agreed we would wait in that line again.
Taste wise I would rate it a 10/10 - but the service wasn't that great.
The workers would mess around with each other and forget things.
That's probably why the wait is so long.
Surprisingly, it was really cold and super windy. Everyone was wearing thick jackets and scarves.
I had to take my North Face jacket and didn't even get to wear my shorts I packed.
Later around midnight, we got hungry again and walked to the famous Halal Guys.
There were so many different kinds of stands similar to them,
but like everyone says, the original Halal Guys is the best.
We got half chicken and half gyro over our rice with their famous white sauce and hot sauce.
It was so freaking good - we both agreed it was
the best thing we ate in NY hands down.
We had it again the next day.
To end the night we had some peanuts with beer while watching TV and ended up passing out around 2AM.
First day in NY was so tiring but exciting - we were so excited for the next day to go to Soho.
